New Update!

When I saw the photos Margaret took I just had to share them....and then I realized that this blog hasn't been updated in a while so here's the latest news on what we've been up to!

Chase the Ace is still ongoing!  The Ace is still hidden and the jackpot is increasing steadily!  If you would like to play, we sell tickets on Sundays from 4-6.  There's also a 50/50 draw each week so there are two chances to grow your money!  :)

Our concert and dance fundraiser over Christmas was a smashing success!!  I don't know the exact figures, but we seated 191 people...and they all laughed and laughed 'til they were sore!  I might invest in a pack of Depends for the Paddy's Day Concert (March 11 for anyone who didn't have it marked on their calendars....wink,wink!!)

We will most likely be having another big 50/50 ticket draw soon so stay tuned!! Our last draw had prize of nearly $2000!!

Also, we are getting closer to our goal every week!

Our newest total is
$15,727.55!!!!

We thank you all so, so much!  It's always overwhelming to take on a project this large and to see the community show their support time and time again.

Wow....just wow!!

Hey Folks,

I was scrolling through Facebook this evening and came across some pictures that just HAVE to be shared!

Margaret Martin is an amateur photographer here in Lord's Cove and is a big part of our Sandy Cove Development Committee.  It's easy to see why she loves to photograph Sandy Cove.  Such natural beauty deserves to be shared and enjoyed with everyone!

Update!!

Hey Everyone!!

I just wanted to check in with you all...with Christmas coming up, everyone's busy and things get pushed aside to deal with Christmas preparations but we just did up a total on our fundraising and just had to let you know how we're doing!!

Our new grand total is......

$13, 360.50

I think that's just awesome!!  And we have you all to thank for it!  Your generosity and support continually overwhelms us!

We are doing fairly well with the Chase the Ace fundraiser.  They always start off a little slow, but once the pot grows a bit then every week it grows more and more quickly!

We also have another fundraiser in the works.  This year there will be a Christmas Concert on December 28th!!  For anyone who's been to our Concerts in the past, they know that it's an awesome time and not to be missed!!  There will also be a 50/50 draw that night, so you can even win a little cash!!  Please mark your calendars!!  It's sure to be a highlight of your Christmas holidays!

Fundraising Frenzy

Hello everyone!!  What a beautiful, sunny, very windy day it is!  Fall in Newfoundland is amazing! :)

Just wanted to send you all an update on our project...I've updated our fundraising total and we're up to ......

$8350

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would like to say thank you to all of our supporters!!  I just can't say it often enough...without you we'd have no hope!

That being said, if you look at our ticker, we still have a ways to go!  So if you're interested in possibly winning some money, maybe you'd be interested in lending a little more support!

We have a couple fundraisers going on right now; the Chase the Ace, on Sundays from 4-6 and a Halloween 50/50 draw, which will picked on Halloween! :)

Or if you prefer, you can simply make a donation (which you can also email transfer, directly into the Sandy Cove Committee account...just email traceyharnett@hotmail.com)

Businesses can also get in on the action, and make a donation!!  When we start construction, we will have a sign acknowledging your support! Your business' name will also be listed on this blog, so everyone will know about your generosity!  :)

Sandy Cove is such a beautiful place, in all seasons, and deserves to be developed so that everyone can appreciate it's beauty and peacefulness.  People have been saying for years how something should be done with Sandy Cove....

So help us do something, something that can be really, really great!
A walk on the beach soothes the soul.

You can never have too much beach!

Woohoo!!

Well, we just got the best news we've heard in quite a while!!

The provincial portion of our project was approved today!

We are so excited!!!

We want to extend a huge

to
Department of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development,
especially Trevor Bungay for all his help in developing our proposal,

and THANK YOU also to

MHA Carol Anne Haley
for her relentless pursuit of provincial funds for this project!

It means the world to us to have people like you helping us
and our success reflects positively on you as well!

We are still waiting to hear about the federal portion of the project, however we have been assured that the approval of the provincial portion is another positive indication that we will likely be approved federally as well.

So, cross your fingers, cross your toes, cross it all! :)

Stay tuned to see how you can help us
achieve our own fundraising goal!!
