Capelin and whales and sand, oh my!

What an eventful morning we've had!!!

We had a visit this morning from the Minister of Tourism, MHA Christopher Mitchelmore, MHA Mark Brown and MHA Carol Anne Haley and their associates.  They came to tour the WERC site on the wharf.  And since they were here in the area, we gave them a little tour of Sandy Cove as well.

It was quite the morning.  If you haven't been to the WERC site, you should go!  It's very interesting...they are a wave energy research station but they also have a lot of sea life.  There are salmon, lobsters, sea cucumbers, hermit crabs, lumpfish, and many others.  I can't name them all!

THEN, to make it all even more exciting a humpback whale came to visit!!!  It was feeding on capelin and breeched several times, right in front of us!

Then, to put the icing on the cake, we went to our beloved Sandy Cove!!  We were so excited and proud to show the Minister our beautiful little piece of heaven!  I think they all enjoyed it as well!!

I think they can better understand now how truly beautiful Sandy Cove is and how much people will enjoy it once it is more accessible!

Stay tuned and cross your fingers that they will give us that extra push to get our proposal finalized so we can get the ball rolling!!

Please share and comment if you've been to Sandy Cove or would like to visit!!  We love hearing from you and it helps show that you're interested!
